ABOUT ME

Mathilde is an Endorsed Registered Midwife with a background in home birthing and midwifery group practice, and has provided comprehensive care during the antenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. Mathilde’s extensive experience spans across the home, public and private sectors, giving her invaluable insight into the different models of care and their impact on the birthing journey.

Originally from Sweden, Mathilde spent most of her childhood in Asia. She has lived in Australia for the past 18 years and completed her formal training here.

Mathilde holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science, a Master’s degree in Nursing, a Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery and a Graduate Certificate of Midwifery Diagnostics and Prescribing. She is also studying to become a Chinese Medicine Practitioner to pursue a holistic approach to women’s health.

Mathilde has an acute understanding of individualised maternity care that encompasses women, babies, and partners, tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs and desires of each expecting family. She empowers parents-to-be through personalised pregnancy, birth, and parenting education. She also specialises in birth mapping, a collaborative and detailed process with expectant parents to visualise and plan their ideal birthing experience. By discussing birth preferences, exploring various birthing options, and developing a comprehensive birth plan, Mathilde enables families to make informed decisions that align with their own values and expectations.

Mathilde covers a wide range of topics as a birth educator, including prenatal care, childbirth techniques, pain management strategies, breastfeeding support, and postpartum care. Each educational session is grounded in compassion, respect, and evidence-based practice, creating a safe and supportive environment for parents to express their concerns and receive guidance.
